Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers placed among America’s finest.
May 1, 2008 (Rome, GA) Murphy-Harpst Children’s recently underwent its regular survey by The Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Murphy-Harpst is a residential treatment facility and group home for some of Georgia’s most abused and at-risk children. The center offers a continuum of therapeutic care along with Specialized Foster Care, Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment, and other services for these young people. They also operate a HeadStart and pre-kindergarten program in Polk County.
The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of the highest quality reflecting an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards. Their mission is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations.
To earn and maintain The Joint Commission’s coveted Gold Seal of Approval™, an organization must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years.
As a result of the accreditation survey, Murphy-Harpst was ranked among the top ten percent of healthcare organizations nationally.
