As all of the children who come to Murphy-Harpst are in temporary custody of the State of Georgia, revenues from state and federal program service fees, such as Medicaid, comprise approximately 70 percent of the organization’s operating budget. The balance must be raised annually through the financial support of businesses, churches, individuals, and private foundations.
In the 2015 fiscal year (which started July 1, 2014), Murphy-Harpst must raise $1.89 million in private donations to meet the total cost of operations. This includes $337,033 that must be raised to meet the cost of clinical care and therapy, which is at the heart of our mission. Funds are needed for the care, maintenance, and daily operation of the two campuses.
